You won't believe it, but ...

Yesterday my son had to have school dinner because his packed lunch fell in the fish tank.

Strange, but true.

Makes a change from the dog eating someone's homework. Fish clearly have more taste...

Do fish eat ham sandwiches?

Hmmm..interesting! Did the teachers believe him?

MT - the teacher wrote a note in his home/school book explaining the situation and (quite delightfully) informed me that she felt the soggy packed lunch would be unhygienic. I have to assume that it made a big splash!

Was he trying to feed it to the fish?

No - apparently it just 'fell in'.

My son swears it was not because he wanted to have school dinner. Although he does (he's trying to persuade his parents of the benefit: he's not paying though...)

hmmm... fishful thinking? OK, that was bad. How on earth did he manage it though?!

Oh dear... thankyou fora raising a smile on an otherwise dark day!

Would you believe it: yesterday I got a bill for the school lunch he had to have. I'm clearly too naive: I'd thought the school would cover an unexpected meal like this. Ho hum.

It wouldn't have happened in my day. We didn't have a fish tank at school.

Bummer, guess you had to clean the tank! (or maybe not if they're pirahnas - very child-friendly I find)

Ps: have missed where you've moved to? Am particularly envious of the carpet which looks like yellow-aged formica work tops with a thousand coffee cup stains on it!
